Homemade Pesto

Made with a handful of ingredients, this pesto recipe is brimming with healthy benefits.


  • 150g cashew nuts (you can use pine nuts or walnuts if preferred)
  • 150ml water
  • 120g basil (spinach or parsley can be used instead)
  • 50g nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • Pinch of salt and pepper


1. Blend the cashews in a food processor until broken down

2. Then add the water slowly and blend again

3. Finally add all the other ingredients and blend until smooth

4. Mix through some pasta, spread on some sourdough toast or top a baked potato
