- Vitamin K2 contributes to normal blood clotting and maintenance of healthy bones
- Vitamin K2 is difficult to source from diet alone
- Higher bioavailability than Vitamin K1
- Suitable for vegans.
Like many vitamins, vitamin K appears in different forms. While vitamin K1 is important for blood clotting, vitamin K2 is vital for healthy bones and arteries because it helps to facilitate the movement of calcium.
Since vitamin K2 is only really found in low volumes in fermented foods and some dairy products, it is difficult to obtain enough through diet alone. This is why we recommend a K2 supplement – especially for people on poor or restricted diets.
Solgar’s Vitamin K supplements are one of our favourite K2 supplements! It’s highly bioavailable so it’s easier to absorb, and the capsule itself is vegetable-based, so it’s a great supplement for vegetarians and vegans.
